If you are a photography student,or just fancy learning a little about 35mm film photography - you could do very little better than buying a Minolta X -300! (Black ones look cooler!) Plenty around at bargain low prices - and if by some remote chance it went wrong,just buy another! Just make sure you have as near a sparkling and unmarked example as possible - both bodily and optically.
Tip: Always look thru viewfinder at an artificial VERY bright light source - it will show any scratches,dust or fungus optically present beautifully - and if any are present,move on!
